Why is shark protection or marine conservation important to you?

Sharks are wonderful animals that have lived on earth since before the dinosaurs. Humans have almost wiped them out - for me, it is our duty to stop hunting the shark and prevent their extinction. They are not monsters to be feared, but deserve our protection, just like any other living creature.

Do you have any special skills, experiences or adventures?

  • A year-long sailing trip with my family changed my life when I was 13 - that was also when I had my first encounters with sharks, which immediately fascinated me.
  • I have now been diving for more than 10 years, both on holiday and in local waters. Nowhere do I feel more comfortable than underwater.
  • I studied biology with the aim of protecting the marine ecosystem as a marine biologist and did several internships in the field of marine biology - even though in the end I chose biomedicine as my career.

And which is your favourite shark?
