Deep-sea mining

Seabed mining (shortened to marine mining, and in the deep-sea area also called deep-sea mining) is mining, that is, the exploration, development, and extraction of mineral resources (raw materials) on and under the seabed.

The extraction of mineral resources from the deep-sea floor has come back into focus in recent years. This is mainly due to the increased testing of extraction techniques on-site and the growing demand for mineral resources, among other things, for the climate-politically necessary energy transition.
