the "why" Sharks need to be protected
Scientists have discovered that the extinction of sharks has a massive impact on the entire ocean: ecosystems, such as reefs, lose their balance and die. In other words, the sea is dying – and with it a food source for millions of people, the largest oxygen producer and CO2 reservoir. The protection of sharks therefore also means marine and climate protection.

The greatest threats for sharks are all man-made: overfishing, fin trade and manufacture of food supplements. The good point is that we humans are also in a position to do something about it!
