Shark weeks

Our instructors are not only in schools, but also on dive boats. We are currently working with the Blue Planet Liverboards fleet to offer escorted diving trips every year in the period from September to November - the peak shark season in Egypt.

In a long lasting cooperation we accompany the one week tours, which mostly follow the so called BDE-route (Brothers Islands - Daedalus - Elphinstone). At these well known spots you are almost guaranteed to see whitetip reef sharks and grey sharks. In addition, the chances of seeing scalloped hammerheads, silky sharks and oceanic whitetips (Longimanus) are very good. With a lot of luck also whale sharks, tiger sharks or thresher sharks swim by.

In the evening our lecturers come into action: In the salon there is a daily lecture about sharks. We work in close coordination with the crew on board. Of course, our guides are also available for the rest of the day as contact persons for the guests.

All this without additional costs for the guests! The tours cost exactly the same as the other Blue fleet safaris on the same route.

In 2022, a team from ORF (Austrian Broadcasting) accompanied Sharkweek and shot a documentary that was used for two broadcasts. Here is a little insight: (the videos are only available in German):
